I wrote in my last post about having been a night owl and that changing due to necessity. This change of hours inspired me as I worked on a new painting at the kitchen table this week in short bursts until I finished it….
… and titled it “Early Bird”. I feel like this bird looks in the early hours, pajamas fluffy hair and all.
This painting will join the rest of the series for my exhibits via the Caplan Art Designs Gallery later this year.
And of course I began another painting immediately. I’m like that. I can’t think of any solo activity more fun to do than paint.
Except possibly reading printed books. Or drawing in my sketchbook. Or writing. Or memorizing poetry.
Here’s my current favorite poem by Dorothy Parker. It’s one of the poems I’m memorizing and thinking about when I’m getting up too dang early to go to physical therapy or the doctor’s for my hurt-but-healing ankle.
I hope you have poems to help your early bird self fly this week. You might as well live too.
Thank you for reading and sharing encouragements!
