North Bank Now article

A Creative Life, animals in art, art exhibit, Artist interviews and profiles, dog portrait, Dogs in Art, fine art, public art

An article (link below) in the magazine North Bank Now mentions my art exhibit “Dogs in the Winery” that is currently up at Burnt Bridge Cellars using words like “marvelous” and “whimsical” to describe it.  Then it goes on and mentions my book “Dogs by Sue Clancy” as “beguiling”.

Pinch me I must be dreaming. Wow! Thank you!

Creative Digest profile of Sue Clancy

A Creative Life, animals in art, Artist interviews and profiles, illustration, published art, words and pictures

I was contacted about a week ago by a magazine located in the U.K called Creative Digest – http://www.creativedigest.co.uk/ – they wanted to do a profile about me and my artwork! They sent me a bunch of questions, and requested art images… it went back and forth…. and now the magazine profile is out!

Here’s the direct link: http://www.creativedigest.co.uk/keep-list-things-make-glad-alive-charming-animal-illustrations-sue-clancy/

They titled the profile “Charming animal illustrations by Sue Clancy” – how nice is that?  This is one of my artworks they chose to feature on the front page.  Going to go happy dance!  I’ll look forward to hearing your thoughts….

similarities of art and writing

A Creative Life, fine art, food for thought, visual story, words and pictures, writing

I have always enjoyed the kinship between visual art and the written word.  Both disciplines similarly use plot, character and a story! As a way to develop my fine art designs i have actively read and studied creative writing (in addition to art, art techniques etc.) since college. So imagine my delight to find that I’m not the only one who thinks this way!  Check out this awesome article titled “The Writing of Art” by Ben Shattuck  http://www.themorningnews.org/article/the-writing-of-art
